Brunch at the Instagram Famous Celsius Coffee Coffee Co. (May 18th)

Celsius Coffee Co.

If there is one instagram famous brunch spot in Sydney, that would be Celsius Coffee Co. With its prime location by the water, situated right next to Kirribilli Wharf, this cafe sits in the suburb of Kirribilli. You can get here by ferry (to Kirribilli Wharf) or by train (to Milson’s Point and a further 13 mins walk).

So to get to Celsius, we took the train to Milson’s point and then walked through Kirribilli to get to the cafe. After all, taking the train means you get to enjoy the view from the Sydney Harbour Bridge (if your train is going North bound), and this is not a view I would usually see on a daily basis.

This was my first time going to Celsius, and we got there around 10:40am. I was quite surprised by how full it was, and how long the queue was. We were told that we would have to wait for around 30 mins. So we waited ( I mean, it’s literally right next to a wharf so you can take plenty of photos of the water view).

While we were waiting, we also checked out the menu. I mean seriously, the amount of indecisiveness pretty much meant I spent the 30 minutes waiting time choosing what I wanted to eat, and not surprisingly, I got the famous Celsius waffles. My boyfriend is vegetarian (Yea I know right? Just why?!), so he ended up choosing Billy’s Eggs. Along with the food, I also got a flat-white (if you know me at all, I’m a caffeine addict oops), and he got a latte.

Presentation and Taste

Honestly, do I really need to talk about presentation? I mean if you’ve heard of Celsius Co, you probably know their food looks too pretty to eat right? Just look at the waffles, how can you even begin to eat that artwork? (But I ate it anyways oops) So definitely 10/10 for instagram worthy presentation and plating, don’t even need a filter for this honestly. Billy’s eggs was very well presented as well, the mint leaves on top just adds that little extra colour which brings the dish to life.

In terms of taste, can I just say, wow, the waffles were absolutely AMAZING! The flavour was not too sweet, but just sweet enough to make you happy, and I really want to find out how they made the peanut butter cream because it was SO GOOD! With Billy’s eggs, according to my boyfriend, it was the best he’s had so far. And mind you, he is a very picky eater, so to receive that amount of positive feedback pretty much means a 10/10 for taste as well.

As for coffee, I would not recommend getting coffee from here. I mean to pair it with your brunch, coffee is a must, but if you’re just looking for good coffee, Celsius wouldn’t be the place I would go to. I had a flat-white, and by all means it was not bad coffee, but it was a little over-roasted and on the sour side, which is not how I like my coffee. So maybe a 6/10 for coffee.

Price

To be very honest, the amount of food we received for the price was a little on the expensive side. I mean, $19 for one waffle? It looked good tho, which is pretty much all that mattered right? As for Billy’s eggs, it really wasn’t a lot, only one piece of sourdough with two pouched eggs and some cherry tomatoes, also for $19. For price, I would give Celsius a 7/10. But honestly, when does brunch food ever fills you up? So maybe eat some breakfast before you come or else you probably will be starving till dinner.

Things to do

After eating, the plan was to go to Kirribilli’s Market, but I found this other wharf on google maps so we decided to take a detour. And I’m glad we did.

Beulah St Wharf seems like it’s been out of service for a while, but it has an amazing view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House (literally facing the Opera House). Living here would be… well… totally day dreaming for me considering how expensive this suburb is, let alone with these views?

An apartment in progress with amazing views (wish I could live here one day)

We explored around for a little 10 mins or so, took some photos of the view (honestly regret not bring my camera, but I guess iPhone camera wasn’t too bad)

Afterwards, we walked along the shore through the reserves to Luna Park, and eventually got to Kirribilli’s Market.

Here’s a link for Kirribilli Markets if anyone wants to check it out https://kirribillimarkets.com/

Overall I would 100% recommend Celsius Co for a good brunch date. The only tip I would give is probably don’t go on a weekend if you don’t want to wait 30 minutes in line. But otherwise this cafe has amazing food, good views, and plenty to do in proximity.
